Ribéry sparkles in attack and defence

It was a pleasure and a privilege to witness Franck Ribéry's equalising goal on Saturday, making the score 3-3 after 53 minutes of the Bundesliga encounter in Mönchengladbach. Philipp Lahm clipped a cross to the far corner of the box, and Ribéry smacked home a sumptuous volley. The French winger was at his scintillating best at Borussia Park, leading his markers a merry dance all afternoon.

It came as no surprise to find Ribéry directly involved in all his side's goals in the action-packed 4-3 away win. Boss Jupp Heynckes made no secret of his approval: “Franck's having a superb season, probably the best of his career," the coach told fcbayern.de, “it's no real surprise he scored twice today." The winger provided the assists for the other two goals and now tops the league chart with 15 this term.
