Sammer: I'm still finding it extraordinary

A calm before the storm has set in at the Säbener Strasse facility, with Jupp Heynckes handing his players and staff two days off at the beginning of the week. The squad and the coaching team will not gather again until Wednesday morning, when they will begin preparations for the last two Bundesliga fixtures – at home to Augsburg and away to Mönchengladbach – and the finals in the Champions League and DFB Cup.

Prior to all that, board member for sport Matthias Sammer appeared on Sunday night’s Sky90 roundtable discussion and took questions from presenter Patrick Wasserziehr. fcbayern.de summarises Sammer's most significant statements.

Matthias Sammer on…

…the forthcoming Champions League final:
“The countdown has been underway for a while. There's lots of talk, although there's not really much to talk about. Despite it all, it'll be decided on the field of play. I guess the verbal sparring beforehand is all part of it. I'm still finding it an extraordinary achievement to have two German teams in the final."
