The plan for Bayern’s celebration on Saturday

Increase font size Text size

Bayern were confirmed as champions on 6 April, and at last, it’s time to celebrate! On Saturday, following the final Bundesliga home fixture of the season, the Allianz Arena crowd will see the home team accept the championship shield. The party actually starts before kick-off in the state derby against Augsburg, with a programme of Bavarian entertainment. If possible, fans are asked to attend the game in traditional dress.

This is followed by a presentation of 22 FCB legends, including Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller, Sepp Maier, Paul Breitner, Lothar Matthäus, Oliver Kahn and Roy Maakay, each embodying one of FCB’s previous 22 championship triumphs. Kick-off at the Allianz Arena is at the normal time of 3.30 pm. The final whistle, hopefully following a home win, ushers in the trophy presentation ceremony and all that entails, with confetti, beer showers and club anthem Stern des Südens, Star Of The South.

Warm-up in Marienplatz from 7 pm

The traditional motorcade sets off from Ungererstrasse at approximately 7.30 pm, travelling via Leopoldstrasse, Ludwigstrasse, Residenzstrasse, Dienerstrasse and Landschaftstrasse before arriving at Marienplatz, where the players are expected to appear on the Town Hall balcony at around 8.30 pm. The party in the city centre square actually starts at 7 pm with BR3 comedian Chris Böttcher and BR3 DJ Fleischi. The presenter duties later pass to FCB stadium announcer Stephan Lehmann.

The Marienplatz party draws to a close at around 9:30 pm, after which the players withdraw from the public gaze for a private title celebration.
