FCB Youth Cup final at Allianz Arena

Talented youngsters from all over the world have just completed the visit of a lifetime to Munich. The second FC Bayern Youth Cup finals week, culminating in a tournament on 6 June, brought young hopefuls from Asia, South America and Europe to the home of the treble winners.

The 14 to 16-year-old youth players came through qualifying tournaments at schools and community organisations in China, Japan, Brazil, Russia, Austria, Italy and Germany before making it to the finals week. In Thursday's concluding tournament at the Allianz Arena, the best of the talented youths played in national teams in front of a crowd of invited school classes.

Andreas Jung, FC Bayern board director for marketing, was delighted with the week: “We're very interested to see whether Italy can defend the title they won last year, because this year, our youth section coaches believe the hot candidates for the overall victory are our Asian representatives from Japan and China."

The process of selecting the best of the talented youngsters was headed by Paul Breitner, who attended the qualifying tournaments together with representatives of supporting partners Yingli Solar, UniCredit, Trentino, Allianz, Audi and the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce.

The players arrived in the Bavarian capital last Sunday and benefited from training sessions with FC Bayern youth coaches. The programme for the trip featured interesting leisure activities, including guided tours of the Allianz Arena and of the city of Munich.
