Monday 1 July 2013: A new member of the executive board took up his duties at FC Bayern today. Effective immediately, Jörg Wacker takes responsibility for internationalisation and strategy at the club. Wacker was introduced to his new colleagues on Monday by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Uli Hoeneß. Wacker becomes the fifth board member along with Rummenigge, Jan-Christian Dreesen, Matthias Sammer and Andreas Jung.
The 45-year-old Wacker spent the last seven years as director of bwin Deutschland and CEO of SportCASA GmbH. Wacker was previously managing director of Sport1 GmbH. The new Bayern board member began his career as a sports journalist.
