No new injuries from Telekom Cup weekend

The second-to-last weekend in July was a good one for Bayern. On the one hand, Pep Guardiola's men beat Hamburg and Mönchengladbach to win the annual Telekom Cup for the first time, and on the other, the squad returned to Munich late on Sunday evening carrying no new injuries worthy of the name. “There are just a few little knocks and scrapes, but otherwise all the players have come through the weekend well," board member for sport Matthias Sammer revealed to fcbayern.de.

Trio at work on comebacks
The bulk of the squad were given the day off on Monday, but Mario Götze and two of his fellow injured stars worked out in the sweltering heat at the Säbener Strasse anyway. New signing Götze continued his sports rehab programme with a 45-minute sprinting drill. “It’s improving all the time for Mario," Matthias Sammer confirmed. Emre Can, absent from the Telekom Cup with a minor injury, completed a few laps of the training facility on Monday, with Bastian Schweinsteiger busy on an individual training programme in the Performance Center.

Team Presentation on Tuesday
Tuesday’s schedule for the first-team squad includes two training sessions, one of them open to the public: as part of the Allianz FC Bayern Team Presentation at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday evening, Pep Guardiola will take charge of his men in a full training workout. The event will be witnessed by a capacity 45,000 crowd, and will be shown in full and live on FCB.tv (German language commentary only).
