On the second day of the Trentino training camp, and with the temperature again soaring above 30°C, Pep Guardiola supervised his troops in their second workout at the stadium in Arco. A crowd of around 2,000 watched the new Bayern boss at work, looking for the first few clues as to what might be different at the treble-winning club in the new campaign.
“It's obvious the coach is full of intent and has a clear idea of how he wants us to play, both in defence and attack," reported club captain Philipp Lahm, reflecting on the first week of training under the Spaniard. Despite the hugely successful 2012/13 season, Lahm insisted the players were “hungry again and determined to win more trophies."
