Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is to remain chairman of the European Club Association (ECA). The FC Bayern executive board chairman was re-elected unopposed to a new two-term in the ECA post at the association’s General Assembly in Geneva on Tuesday. Rummenigge has headed up the organisation representing the interests of 214 leading European clubs from 53 countries since January 2008.
Umberto Gandini, the organisational director at AC Milan, remains senior vice-president, and FC Barcelona president Sandro Rosell remains second vice-president. The new third vice-president is Jewgeni Giner, who is chairman of Bayern’s Champions League opponents CSKA Moscow. He replaces Belgian official Michel Verschueren of RSC Anderlecht.
