There was a new experience for Philipp Lahm on Wednesday evening - and it was a painful one. The Germany international had to leave the pitch before half time in the match against CSKA Moscow in the Russian capital, the first time this has happened when the defender has played for Bayern. The FCB captain hobbled off the pitch after 26 minutes clutching his thigh, before being substituted two minutes later. However, the early news is that Lahm has had some good fortune given the circumstances.
The first diagnosis suggests he has only pulled the hamstring in his right thigh. A full examination will follow in Munich on Thursday.
Thiago came on for the 30-year-old, making his first appearance in Europe wearing a Bayern shirt. Manuel Neuer took over as captain.
