Lahm: We’re not done for the year yet

Bayern have won the unofficial autumn championship in the Bundesliga, but in the aftermath of Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Hamburg, the FCB camp was well aware of the challenges still lying ahead. “We’re not done for the year yet,” declared captain Philipp Lahm. “We’re flying to Morocco now aiming to win the last trophy of the year,” added Pep Guardiola before the playing and coaching staff boarded the bus to the airport.

Reaction to Bayern v Hamburg

Pep Guardiola: “Congratulations to FC Bayern for an unbelievable 2013. We ran into trouble in the second half today because we gave the ball away too cheaply. We have to put that right. The players are already thinking about Marrakech. I have to keep making the players aware of all the hard work we still have to do, although it’s always tough after Champions League matches. We’re flying to Morocco now aiming to win the last trophy of the year.“

Philipp Lahm: “We have many years of hard work behind us, and we’ve earned our reward in 2013. But we’re not done for the year yet. We’ll give the Club World Cup our very best shot, and we intend to have another successful year in 2014.“

Bert van Marwijk (HSV coach): “It's always hard against what’s probably the best club team in the world. But we were well-organised and didn’t give much away. We were much improved in the second half and had our chances. But if you want to take a point in Munich, you have to take your chances.“
