On Sunday Hannover became the latest victims in FCB’s scintillating winning streak. “We’ve found our rhythm and we want to maintain our rhythm,” board director for sport Matthias Sammer said after the final whistle at the HDI Arena. Pep Guardiola was just as pleased with the performance, saying his men played “very well” after a few problems in the opening exchanges. “It was a chance to extend our lead over our rivals,” the coach continued, “and my lads have done just that!”
Reaction to Hannover v Bayern:
Matthias Sammer: “We’ve found our rhythm and we want to maintain our rhythm. We took note of our rivals’ results and we knew we could pull even further clear today. That was our intention. There’s a good group dynamic in the team. This is how we intend to continue!“
Pep Guardiola: “The early minutes are always tricky. It took a while before we found our rhythm. We played very well once we’d scored. It was a chance to extend our lead over our rivals – and my lads have done just that!”
Bastian Schweinsteiger: “It felt good to be back in the starting line-up and not to have any problems. I’m feeling much better and my fitness is improving too. I need to find my personal rhythm and I need playing time in order to recover peak fitness. I hope things keep looking up for me from now on.“
Tayfun Korkut (Hannover coach): “We played really well for the first 25 minutes, but we were up against a brutally good team. It's not enough against a really top team when you only knock them off their game for short spells. Bayern were cold-blooded with their chances.“
