The club captain showed the way: Philipp Lahm led his team out onto the practice ground for the afternoon workout on Tuesday after the stars returned from a full day and a half of rest and regeneration. It was the opening session of the last uninterrupted week of training before a minimum of four weeks including a game on Tuesday or Wednesday. Head coach Pep Guardiola supervised the entire first-team squad with the exception of long-term absentee Holger Badstuber but including birthday boy Tom Starke, who turned 33 on Tuesday. Reserve team player Ylli Sallahi joined the seniors for the session. Badstuber continued with his sports rehab programme on an adjacent pitch.
