Shakedown at the Säbener

After the title party in Berlin on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, the stars are mainly using their day off on Thursday to rest and recuperate at home. However, less than 24 hours after the squad returned to Munich two players reported to the Säbener Strasse facility anyway. Mario Mandzukic completed a light, football-specific fitness programme supervised by Lorenzo Buenaventura, while Holger Badstuber took to an adjacent pitch for a session of sports rehab exercise with specialist coach Thomas Wilhelmi.

Trophy presentation on 10 May

Bayern have claimed the Bundesliga title at an earlier point in the season than ever before, launching the countdown to the trophy presentation. The German Football League (DFL) has now confirmed that the ceremony will take place at the Allianz Arena on 10 May following Bayern’s final Bundesliga fixture of the season against VfB Stuttgart.

Green in US squad

Julian Green has been named in the USA squad for a friendly international against Mexico on 2 April in Glendale, Arizona. The 18-year-old Bayern reserve striker recently opted to represent his country of birth and could now make his senior debut. The Mexico test is not an official FIFA international so  US coach Jürgen Klinsmann cannot demand the release of players contracted to professional clubs in Europe.
