Diego Contento sidelined with injury

Pep Guardiola will have to make do without Diego Contento in the away game at FC Augsburg. The left-back damaged a ligament in his left ankle in the final pre-match training session before the Champions League game at Manchester United. That was the diagnosis following an examination by the club doctor Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt on Thursday. The 23-year-old is wearing a plaster cast at the moment and Contento will be fitted with a special shoe on Friday. If everything goes to plan with the rehab measures the defender will be able to take part in light training at the start of next week.

Green makes debut for USA

Julian Green made his international debut for the USA this week. Head coach Jürgen Klinsmann brought on the 18-year-old Bayern talent after an hour of a 2-2 draw in the friendly between USA and Mexico. Green, born in Tampa in Florida, has scored 15 goals for the Bayern reserves so far this season. Julian is hoping for the chance to go the World Cup finals in Brazil this summer.
