Diego Contento sidelined with injury

Pep Guardiola will have to make do without Diego Contento in the away game at FC Augsburg. The left-back damaged a ligament in his left ankle in the final pre-match training session before the Champions League game at Manchester United. That was the diagnosis following an examination by the club doctor Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt on Thursday. The 23-year-old is wearing a plaster cast at the moment and Contento will be fitted with a special shoe on Friday. If everything goes to plan with the rehab measures the defender will be able to take part in light training at the start of next week.
