Fine record against Hamburg

The recent record against Hamburg SV is certainly impressive from an FC Bayern perspective: The Reds have won all of the past four encounters with an outstanding return of 20 goals for and just three against. FCB have won 57 of the 97 Bundesliga duels to date, 21 games ended all square and Hamburg were the victors on 19 occasions. The overall goals tally of 212 to 99 in favour of Bayern reflects the fact they have not played any other side in the Bundesliga as often or found the back of the net as many times over the years.

Attack versus defence

Saturday's meeting between FC Bayern and Hamburg SV sees the best attack in the Bundesliga take on the weakest defence. FCB have scored 89 goals in the previous 32 games this term, almost twice as many as Hamburg (48). HSV have the worst defence this season with 68 goals conceded so far, already equalling the club's previous worst record from the 1987/88 campaign.

Fritz the man in the middle

Marco Fritz from Korb will referee FC Bayern's last Bundesliga away game of the season. It will be the third time 36-year-old banker Fritz has been in charge of an FCB fixture in the current campaign and the ninth time overall he has officiated a game involving the Reds. All those matches ended in victory for Bayern. The last time was back in March when the league title was secured in Berlin. Fritz will be assisted by Dominik Schaal and Frederick Assmuth with Bibiana Steinhaus as the fourth official.

Bochum visit Säbener HQ

The training ground at Säbener Strasse was busy before the pre-match workout for Guardiola's men on Friday. FC Bayern had invited second division VfL Bochum to use the facilities to prepare for their away game at 1860 Munich on Sunday. “The friendship between the two clubs is well established,” explained VfL coach Peter Neururer after the session at Säbener Strasse, “Hermann Gerland, on behalf of FC Bayern, told us the club is very happy to help us out.” Neururer will also be able to make use of the “outstanding training set-up” on Saturday.
