Only two weeks ago FC Bayern won their 17th DFB Cup final at the Olympic stadium in Berlin. As of Sunday evening the holders now know their first task of the new campaign: Pep Guardiola’s men will travel to face third-division Preußen Münster in the first round proper of the 2014/15 campaign. The draw was made live on national TV this Sunday evening by Germany U-21 coach Horst Hrubesch and singer Fernanda Brandao.
The meeting will be the first-ever between FCB and the men from the Münsterland region, who finished sixth in the most recent third-tier season. Preußen are coached by former Bundesliga pro Ralf Loose, previously in charge at a number of clubs including Dynamo Dresden, FC Augsburg and the Liechtenstein national team.
The first round ties will be played between 15 and 18 August 2014. Final scheduling of Bayern’s tie will most likely take place in July.
