After three eventful days in New York the Bayern touring party arrived at the second destination on the Audi Summer Tour USA 2014on Saturday afternoon local time. Following a six-hour flight from Newark/New Jersey, the plane carrying the Bundesliga giants landed at around 2.30 pm in Portland, Oregon, where Pep Guardiola will continue his team’s pre-season preparations for the next five days. The squad were set to train in the evening. The club’s schedule in the American north-west features training sessions and marketing activities, before FCB conclude their USA trip on 6 August with the prestigious friendly against the MLS All-Stars. The stars who featured in the World Cup semi-finals and beyond are still enjoying the last few days of their summer vacations but will arrive in Portland bang on time for the Major League Soccer All-Star game.
Wolfsburg lose Jung to injury
VfL Wolfsburg, Bayern’s opponents in the official Bundesliga season-opening game, with be without new signing Sebastian Jung for the next few weeks. The 24-year-old right-back, who won his first Germany cap in May, has stretched a muscle in his groin, the club said on Saturday. Jung will be unable to train with the team for at least two weeks and will pursue an individual sports rehab programme.
