Manchester City, who face Bayern this Wednesday on the first matchday of the Champions League group stage, salvaged a 2-2 draw away to Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. Manuel Pellegrini’s men led at half-time thanks to a 28th-minute Sergio Aguero strike, but the Gunners turned the match on its head after the interval through Jack Wilshere (63) and Alexis Sanchez (74). Former Bayern stalwart Martin Demichelis rescued a point for City six minutes from time. The Sky Blues, who hit the goal frame twice in a frantic finish, are now up to seven points after four league fixtures.
Milestone for Götze
Mario Götze clocked up his 50th appearance for Bayern on Saturday. The 22-year-old’s opening goal against VfB was his 17th in the league for Germany’s most successful club.
