Euro 2016 qualifiers

Eleven Bayern men on international duty

Another international break is here after the first busy run of Bundesliga and Champions League fixtures. FC Bayern pros are on the road in force with their national sides in search of vital points in the qualifiers for the 2016 European Championship finals in France. 53 teams are fighting it out in nine groups to secure a place in the Euro finals. fcbayern.de reports on where and when the FCB pros are in action.

Group D
Manuel Neuer
, Thomas Müller, Mario Götze and Jérôme Boateng are in the World Cup winners’ squad for Germany’s two qualifiers on 11 October in Warsaw against Poland (with Robert Lewandowski) and against Ireland three days later in Gelsenkirchen. Poland entertain Scotland in their second game in Warsaw on 14 October.

Group A
Arjen Robben
and the Netherlands need two wins following the 2-1 defeat to the Czech Republic in their opening game. The Oranje are at home to Kazakhstan in Amsterdam on 9 October and away to Iceland in Reykjavik three days later.

Group C
Summer signing Juan Bernat is in the senior Spain squad for the first time. The reigning European champions, who kicked off the Euro 2016 campaign with a convincing 5-1 victory over Macedonia, face two away trips, against Slovakia in Zilina on 9 October and Luxembourg on 12 October.

Group E
Xherdan Shaqiri
and his Switzerland compatriots are also under pressure following the 2-0 reverse against England. They have the opportunity to get back on track against Slovenia in Maribor on 9 October and in San Marino on 14 October.

Group G
David Alaba
and Austria are looking to register their first win in Group G following a 1-1 draw against Sweden. The Austrians are away to Moldova in Chisinau on 9 October and then at home to Montenegro in Vienna three days later.

Group I
Bayern youngster Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg got off to a winning start in the Euro qualifiers with Denmark when they beat Armenia 2-1. The Danes want to build on that result in Albania on 11 October and then at home to Portugal on 14 October in the search for the next points on the road to Euro 2016.

FCB central defender Medhi Benatia is also on international duty. The defender will play for Morocco in two friendlies against the Central African Republic (9 October) and Kenya (15 October).
