Alaba makes comeback against Al-Hilal

After two months on the sidelines with injury David Alaba has made a successful comeback in an FC Bayern shirt.  The Austrian international came on as a 57th-minute substitute in Saturday evening’s friendly meeting with Saudi-Arabian club Al-Hilal in Riyadh. Alaba ruptured the ligaments in his right knee during a Champions League meeting with AS Roma last November and was forced to undergo surgery to repair the damage.

Goodbye Doha, hello Riyadh! The FC Bayern travelling party arrived in Saudi Arabia on Saturday morning for the last leg of this year’s winter training tour. After eight days, 11 training sessions and a friendly match in Qatar the players and officials left the Aspire Academy after breakfast on Saturday and transferred to the airport for the direct flight to Riyadh. The Lufthana charter jet touched down after an approximately one-hour flight well in time for the second winter friendly of the year, the evening meeting with Al-Hilal. The schedule for the day includes sponsor appointments for a handful of the FCB stars.

Cup tie details finalised

The German FA (DFB) has announced the final timings for the DFB Cup last sixteen meeting between holders Bayern and second division Eintracht Braunschweig. The clash at the Allianz Arena in Munich kicks off at 20:30 / 8.30 pm on Wednesday 4 March 2015.
