Welcome back to the Bavarian winter: after the nine-day training camp in the Qatari sun the Bayern stars reported back to the Säbener Strasse facility in Munich on Monday afternoon for training. “Blimey, it’s really parky,” muttered Thomas Müller as he left the dressing room and headed for the practice ground. Pep Guardiola supervised a total of 21 players in the session, including three goalkeepers. Bastian Schweinsteiger broke off the session as a precaution after taking a knock on the ankle.
Solo shifts for Götze and Benatia
Mario Götze and Medhi Benatia were not among the group for the squad session. Götze is nursing a groin strain and was restricted to light jogging, but he is expected to resume the squad programme in the next few days. Benatia is still recovering from a back injury and also completed an individual exercise session. The next squad workout is a public session at 17:00 / 5 pm on Tuesday.
