Good news for FC Bayern and World Cup winner Jérôme Boateng. Following his red card in the 1-1 draw with Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga the FCB central defender will now only miss two games. This follows a personal hearing at the DFB disciplinary committee in Frankfurt on Monday attended by Boateng and FCB sporting director Matthias Sammer. Boateng was originally banned for three games and FC Bayern then lodged an appeal. The 26-year-old will only have to sit out the home match against Hamburg SV and he will be available for the trip to SC Paderborn on matchday 22.
Ribéry and Rafinha return to full training
FC Bayern started preparing for Saturday’s Bundesliga fixture against Hamburg SV on Monday. Franck Ribéry and Rafinha were back on the training ground. The duo picked up injuries in training a week and a half ago just before the opening match against VfL Wolfsburg and they have been sidelined since then. “Now we’ll see how my muscle stands up to it. I hope to be back against Hamburg,” said Ribéry.
