Thiago resumes work with the ball

After a full four months out of action, Thiago had the ball at his feet again for the first time on Tuesday. It was immediately obvious that the gifted Spaniard has lost none of his instinctive skill as he juggled the ball using his feet, knee, thigh shoulder and head. A reintroduction to work on the ball was part of the day's programme for the 22-year-old, who last had a football at his feet on 14 October last year. Tuesday's session was the next small but important step on the road to a comeback.

FCB trio set for Algarve Cup

As expected Germany women's coach Silvia Neid has called three FC Bayern players into her squad for the annual Algarve Cup tournament. Melanie Behringer, Leonie Maier and Melanie Leupolz are among a 23-strong squad for the prestigious event in Portugal from 4 to 11 March. Germany contest a group also including Sweden (4 March), China (6 March) and Brazil (9 March).
