There was no official training session on Thursday, but Franck Ribéry, Sebastian Rode and Claudio Pizarro reported to the Säbener Strasse facility in any case. Supervised by fitness coach Dr. Holger Broich, the trio completed a punishing morning session on the ball. Ribéry, Rode and Pizarro have all been plagued by minor injuries recently but all three should be able to resume the squad programme soon.
Robben back in team training
The previous day brought positive news of Arjen Robben, who is one step ahead of his injured team-mates. Four days prior to the top Bundesliga clash between FC Bayern and Borussia Mönchengladbach, the Dutch superstar resumed team training at the Säbener Strasse. Robben missed the weekend trip to face Werder Bremen with a trapped nerve and had been restricted to tailored fitness drills since then. The 31-year-old is no longer feeling any pain and should be fit for Sunday’s meeting with the side lying third in the standings.
