The club’s travel subsidiary FC Bayern Tours has made a €2,000 donation to FC Bayern Hilfe eV, the club’s charitable foundation. Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and members’ club president Karl Hopfner accepted a cheque from FC Bayern Tours managing director Robert Ostermeier on Thursday. “This generous gesture again shows how closely FC Bayern’s staff and partners identify with the objectives of our charity aid organisation,” commented Hopfner, who is also chairman of FC Bayern Hilfe eV. The foundation was established in 2005 to provide rapid assistance to persons affected by emergency situations through no fault of their own.
'Superbrand' FC Bayern
FC Bayern has yet again been confirmed as a German Superbrand. A 27-strong jury evaluated a total of 1,250 nominated brands according to various criteria including brand dominance, customer relationships, goodwill, longevity and overall brand acceptance. Of the contenders, 51 were awarded the prestigious Superbrand seal of approval. Superbrands, an international and independent organisation headquartered in London, has identified and recognised the best and strongest brands in more than 85 countries for more than two decades. The awards ceremony took place last week in Berlin, where FCB board director Andreas Jung accepted the award on behalf of the club.
