The group for daily training at the Säbener Strasse is finally growing back towards its normal size, as a good number of the club’s current internationals reappeared at the Säbener Strasse facility on Wednesday morning. Pep Guardiola supervised world champions Bastian Schweinsteiger, Manuel Neuer, Jérôme Boateng, Mario Götze and Thomas Müller, with Robert Lewandowski also back from duty with Poland. The session went ahead without the players on the injury roster - Holger Badstuber, Arjen Robben, Franck Ribéry, David Alaba, Claudio Pizarro and Javi Martínez – and Juan Bernat, who featured for Spain the night before.
Defeat for Spain starter Bernat
Tuesday evening saw Bernat start a full international for his country for the second time, although Bayern’s versatile left-sided player was unable to prevent his team falling to a 2-0 reverse against the Netherlands in Amsterdam. Stefan de Vrij (13) and Davy Klaassen (16) scored for the men in orange, who were without injury victim Arjen Robben.
