The club’s fit players are in Porto preparing for the Champions League last eight clash, but the performance center at the Säbener Strasse was a busy place on Tuesday too. Arjen Robben, recently sidelined with torn stomach muscles, has begun sports rehab training. The Dutchman completed a punishing stint on the bicycle ergometer before a session of light jogging on the treadmill. David Alaba was finally allowed out of plaster on Monday and is now wearing a splint: the Austrian has started on the road to recovery with light stamina-building exercise, not as yet involving his injured knee. Franck Ribéry, Mehdi Benatia and Javi Martínez also worked out in the weights room. Bastian Schweinsteiger is still laid low with a virus but is expected back at the Säbener Strasse facility later this week.
