Praise for Dresden, Hoffenheim up next

Less than 14 hours after the benefit match away to Dynamo Dresden, the Bayern stars were back at work at the Säbener Strasse facility. Just under 2,500 excited fans watched as Pep Guardiola put his men through their paces in an open training session. In pleasant late summer temperatures of around 17 degrees Celsius, Dante, Mario Götze, Sebastian Rode, Joshua Kimmich and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who contested long spells of the game in Dresden, put in a few regenerative laps of the ground, with the remaining players completing a 90-minte workout.

“I enjoyed it,” Hojbjerg informed FCB.tv, “it was a good game in Dresden and we didn’t do badly at all.” The Denmark international was much taken by the atmosphere: “It was a terrific setting.” Bayern captain Philipp Lahm also said as much immediately after the match: “The reception and the atmosphere were unbelievable.”

Guardiola has handed his men the day off on Wednesday, before the Reds report back on Thursday and turn their full attention to Saturday afternoon’s trip to Hoffenheim. “We’re looking for our next three points,” Lahm declared.
