The Bayern stars looked at their magnificently stylish best after training at the Säbener Strasse on Tuesday lunchtime, as they were decked out in traditional Bavarian dress including Lederhosen and typical Trachtenhemden shirts. Three and a half weeks prior to the world-famous Oktoberfest, Thomas Müller, Philipp Lahm & Co were in upbeat spirits at the annual Paulaner photo shoot, the Bavarian costumes making it feel a little like the beer festival and funfair had already begun in earnest. New signings Arturo Vidal and Douglas Costa also cut a dash in the unaccustomed garb. Apart from a team photo featuring all the players and the coaching staff, images were composed in a Biergarten setting and snaps taken to publicise the Paulaner Cup des Südens.
Alaba returns to Austria squad
David Alaba is back in the Austria squad for the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers. The FC Bayern star is fully fit again after a knee injury and features in coach Marcel Koller’s squad for the first time since late March. The Austrians play Moldova on 5 September and visit Sweden three days later. Should Alaba and Co beat the Moldovans and Russia drop points to Sweden in the parallel fixture, Austria could already seal a berth at next summer’s Euro in France as Group G leaders. Koller has called up a total of ten players from the German Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2.
