Four-week lay-off for injured Arjen

FC Bayern will be without winger Arjen Robben for the next four weeks. The 31-year-old was substituted after half an hour of the Netherlands’ 1-0 defeat to Iceland on Thursday evening with a thigh injury. The player was examined by Bayern chief medic Dr Volker Braun in Munich on Friday, and has been diagnosed with a groin strain.

Dutch left with mountain to climb

As a result of Thursday evening's shock reverse, the Netherlands and their new captain Robben are in danger of missing out on Euro 2016 in France. The 1988 European champions' qualifying defeat at home to group leaders Iceland on Thursday means they now lie six points off second place in the standings with three games to play. Robben is definitely out of his country’s crunch meeting with Turkey on Sunday.
