Return, training, regeneration

The Bayern stars are back in Munich. At the second attempt – the pilot was forced to abort the initial approach to Munich airport due to strong winds – the plane bearing the winners from Piraeus landed on home soil at half past one on Thursday afternoon. The players transferred directly to the Säbener Strasse facility, where the unused substitutes from the previous night completed a full training session, with the rest of the squad reporting to the performance centre for regeneration exercises.

Darmstadt at full strength

Darmstadt boss Dirk Schuster will pick from a near full strength squad for Saturday’s Bundesliga meeting with Bayern. “They’ve all reported fit,” the 47-year-old told reporters two days prior to the match . Schuster is only without two long-term absentees, midfielder Yannick Stark (ankle) and backup keeper Patrick Platins (hamstring).
