FCB equal best-ever league start

FC Bayern’s performance in the 2015/16 Bundesliga season so far with 18 points and a goal difference of +17 after six matches is a new record, equalling the club’s own best-ever start in the 2012/13 treble-winning campaign. FCB have won their first six straight matches for the sixth time. In four of the previous five cases FCB finished as champions, most recently in the treble season.

Double scoring milestone

Robert Lewandowski’s first goal in the 5-1 victory over Wolfsburg was Bayern’s 3,700th in the Bundesliga. With the Pole adding another four to his tally, the Reds have now netted a total of 3,704 goals in 1,710 matches. And in Pep Guardiola’s 117 competitive matches at the Bayern helm, his men have now scored exactly 300 times.

Dante says farewell

Just a month ago, Dante ran out at the Allianz Arena in Bayern colours, on 29 August against Leverkusen. Two days later he moved to VfL Wolfsburg, so there was no time for an official farewell ceremony. This was finally performed on Tuesday evening when Karl-Heinz Rummenigge presented a bouquet to the Brazilian, who spent three seasons at FCB, winning three championships and the Champions League. The Arena crowd also rose to applaud the defender. Thank you, Dante!
