Guardiola addresses coaching conference

With no training session scheduled for Tuesday, Pep Guardiola travelled to Madrid as guest of a coaching conference at Spanish FA (RFEF) headquarters. In his address, Guardiola emphasised the crucial role of video analysis in match preparation and the fact that tactics must be fine-tuned on the training ground. “What isn’t’ trained gets forgotten,” he said. Guardiola was accompanied by FCB fitness coach Lorenzo Buenaventura, who gave an address about regeneration training. Delegates to the conference included the head coaches from Tottenham Hotspur (Mauricio Pocchetino), FC Porto (Julen Lopetegui), Atletico Madrid (Diego Simeone), FC Valencia (Espiritu Santo) and FC Sevilla (Unai Emery). Guardiola also met Spain national coach Vicente Del Bosque for a brief conversation.

Friendly in Landshut postponed

FC Bayern have postponed a friendly match in Landshut, originally set for 8 October, after consulting with the local club. Sporting director Matthias Sammer travelled to Landshut for a press conference on Tuesday to state the reasons for the short-term postponement. “We and the organisers knew in advance that eleven Bayern pros would be away for internationals,” explained Sammer, “but after the Dortmund match, injuries will prevent Lahm, Alonso, Martínez, Bernat and Rode from playing. Robben, Badstuber and Kirchhoff aren't yet fit, and our reserves play away to Jahn Regensburg in the top Regionalliga match on Friday evening, so these players aren't available either. We would have had to play with hardly any pros and many youth players. It wouldn't have been the FC Bayern team the fans expect.” The friendly has been postponed to the summer of 2016. “We'll come with a pro team next year,” promised Sammer, “we'll agree a date with SpVgg Landshut and publish it as soon as the DFL dates and our summer preparation for the next season are scheduled.”

Live training coverage postponed

Our scheduled live coverage of Bayern’s training session on YouTube on Wednesday 7 October has unfortunately been postponed. FCB asks fans for their understanding and will show a live stream from training again in the near future. The sessions on Wednesday and Thursday this week (both at 11.00 CET) at the Säbener Strasse are both open to the public.
