Two pros train with reserves – Rode up and running

The trip to London came too early for Arjen Robben and Holger Badstuber, but the two Bayern pros did not have to pass up team training: they worked out with the reserves under Heiko Vogel's auspices on Monday noon. Sebastian Rode's recovery is on track; he is sidelined for three weeks due to tendon problems. For the first time since his injury the midfielder ran a few laps on the pitch on Monday. Mehdi Benatia also worked hard towards a comeback after a thigh injury. Besides coordination drills the Moroccan completed a programme of sprints.

Wörle among top ten

What an accolade for Thomas Wörle! FIFA announced on Monday that the FCB women's coach is one of ten candidates for the Women's Football Coach of the Year award. Wörle is in good company: Jill Ellis (USA) and the reigning Champions League trophy holder Colin Bell (FFC Frankfurt) are nominated too. The shortlist will be reduced to three names by the end of November. The winner will be announced on the occasion of the FIFA Ballon d'Or Gala in Zurich on 11 January 2016.

Quote of the day

“If it were a Friday I might be a little superstitious. Fortunately it's a Tuesday. So we don't have to overdo the superstition.
(FC Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge on Tuesday's match in London, asked whether he was superstitious after 12 wins in competitive fixtures: Bayern are seeking a 13th victory in a row).
