Thomas Müller scored twice in his 72nd Champions League appearance and is now on 32 goals in Europe's top club competition. In the scorer rankings the Germany international has overtaken former world stars Samuel Eto'o and Kaka. In the club's rankings he is now ahead of chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (30) and is second only to Gerd Müller, who boasts 66.
Comeback kids Benatia and Badstuber
Pep Guardiola has more options in defence again. Mehdi Benatia came on as a sub on Wednesday after sustaining a muscular injury in the victory over Hoffenheim in August. Holger Badstuber also returned to the matchday ssquad after being sidelined for half a year due to a torn muscle in his left thigh. His last appearance was in the 6-1 victory over Porto on 21 April.
