Kimmich's streak continues

Joshua Kimmich extended an excellent personal run in the meeting with Hoffenheim. The 20-year-old made the FCB starting line-up for the eighth time, and on Sunday evening he celebrated his eighth victory – with an accumulated goal difference of 22 for and one against! Including appearances as a sub, Kimmich also becomes only the third player in Bundesliga history to win all of his first 11 matches in the German top tier, a feat also achieved by Thiago and Dominik Kohr.

Juve's Mandzukic injured

Italian record champions Juventus may be without striker Mario Mandzukic in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against FC Bayern on 23 February. The former FCB pro is recovering from a muscular injury to his left calf. It remains to be seen whether he will be available for selection in the first encounter with the German record champions. On Sunday Alvaro Morata (6/40), Alex Sandro (61) and Paul Pogba (67) scored for Juventus without Mandzukic in a clear-cut 4-0 league victory over Chievo Verona. The Italians now boast 12 wins in a row.
