How many times have FC Bayern and FC Augsburg faced off? What is the overall record in the fixture? How did Augsburg start the second half of the season? And who will be in charge of Sunday's fixture (Live in English from 17.30 CET on Twitter and FCB.tv Web Radio)? fcbayern.de has delved into the facts and stats prior to the match.

FCB clear favourites

FC Augsburg and FC Bayern have crossed swords in nine Bundesliga fixtures. The record is clearly in favour of the German record champions: they have won seven and lost two, scoring 18 and conceding only five goals. The sides have also clashed twice in the DFB Cup, with FCB leaving the pitch as winners both times.

Augsburg making up ground

However, a look at the more recent encounters reveals that it is not going to be an easy match for the table-toppers. The hosts have won two of the last four duels, both ending in a 1-0 scoreline. In both cases FCB had already wrapped up the German championship title.

FCA winless in 2016

FC Augsburg have yet to win a competitive fixture in 2016, whereas Bayern started the year with two victories and a draw. The home side's yield has been poor so far this year: they have taken two points and only scored one goal in three matches. By comparison, Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski, who has scored nine goals in nine encounters with Augsburg, has netted four times in the same period of time.

Meyer in charge of derby

Florian Meyer will be the man with the whistle in the tenth Bundesliga derby between FCA and FCB on Sunday. It is the third time that the 47-year-old from Burgdorf takes charge of a match involving the Reds this season. He oversaw the 3-0 victory over Leverkusen and the 4-0 win against Köln. His assistants will be Frank Willenborg and Christoph Bornhorst, with Thorsten Schriever as fourth official.
