Backwards slaloms, staccato leaps over mini hurdles and to finish off with, sprints and runs from penalty box to penalty box: new signing Serdar Tasci certainly broke sweat in his first official workout as a Bayern player. The club’s head of fitness and health Dr Holger Broich prepared a 50-minute programme for the 28-year-old based on running, passing and dribbling.
“It was really good after such a long break,” Tasci informed fcbayern.de after the session. His previous club Spartak Moscow went into the Russian winter break in early December, but the defender was not totally unprepared for his first day at the Säbener Strasse. “I completed the Spartak winter training camp, so I’ve already worked on the fitness basics.”
The programme for the 14-time Germany international on Tuesday included an introduction to the performance centre. “It’s all really super,” Tasci declared, “it has everything that marks out a truly top club. I’m overjoyed and I’m really looking forward to training with the team tomorrow. I just want to go for it now.”
