As expected three Bayern stars are in the Germany squad for the first two internationals of the year. Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller and Mario Götze are part of Joachim Löw's 27-man squad for the classic fixtures against England in Berlin on 26 March and against Italy in Munich three days later on 29 March.
A total of ten FCB pros are on international duty next week. Kingsley Coman has been called up by France for friendlies against the Netherlands in Amsterdam on 25 March and against Russia in Paris on 29 March. However, the youngster will not encounter Arjen Robben, who is not available for selection with a groin injury as well as a cold.
Captain Robert Lewandowski and his Polish team-mates play friendlies against Serbia in Poznan on 23 March and against Finland in Wroclaw on 26 March. David Alaba and his Austrian compatriots take on Albania on 26 March and Turkey on 29 March, both in Vienna. Thiago will be part of the Spain squad for the matches against Italy in Udine on 24 March and against Romania in Cluj on 27 March.
Competitive fixtures for three Munich men
While many Bayern players compete in friendlies as warm-ups for this summer’s EURO 2016, three Reds are involved in competitive fixtures. Mehdi Benatia and new Morocco coach Hervé Renard encounter Cape Verde twice, in Praia on 26 March and in Agadir on 29 March, in 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Douglas Costa and Arturo Vidal are already fighting for a spot in the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Costa and his Brazilian team-mates cross swords with Uruguay in Recife on 25 March and Paraguay in Asuncion on 29 March, whereas Vidal and Chile take on Argentina in Santiago on 24 March and Venezuela in Barinas on 29 March.
