On Tuesday lunchtime the Bayern stars began preparing for the next Bundesliga fixture, Saturday evening’s meeting with Werder Bremen at the Allianz Arena (kick-off 18.30 CET). A large crowd watched Pep Guardiola supervise his troops in a variety of groups: the starting XI from the Dortmund match performed regenerative drills, with the remainder practising passing, crossing and shooting.
Marketing Tuesday at FCB
The players completed a busy schedule after the workout too, as Tuesday was an official marketing day. Once again split into groups, the stars posed for photographs in the Säbener Straße multi-purpose hall, the on-site TV studio and at the Allianz Arena on behalf of FCB partners Telekom, Audi, Lufthansa, Philips, DHL and the club’s in-house merchandising department.
New challenge for Kovac brothers
Two former FC Bayern players are back in the Bundesliga. Niko Kovac has been named Eintracht Frankfurt head coach, replacing Armin Veh who was dismissed at the weekend. The former midfield dynamo, who represented FCB between 2001 and 2003, will be assisted by his brother Robert, a centre-back for Munich from 2001 to 2005. The Kovac brothers coached the Croatia national team until September 2015.
