Ribéry approaches peak form

Franck Ribéry impressed the fans with his very first appearance for FC Bayern. He made his Bundesliga debut for the Reds in August 2007 in a 3-0 victory over Rostock. 3,143 days later he made his 200th league appearance in the 1-0 win away to Köln. Does Ribéry have any particularly fond memories?

“There have been many beautiful moments,” the winger told fcbayern.de, but he did not want to decide on his single most beautiful moment on the pitch. Who could blame him, considering his long list of achievements with FC Bayern? His impressive tally: 69 goals, 76 assists! But for 'King Franck' only one thing matters: “I'm always happy when I'm out on the pitch with the team.”

'Train well and intensely'

Ribéry continues to enjoy every single minute of playing time. After recovering from a pulled thigh muscle he made his yearned-for comeback in the 3-1 victory over Darmstadt on 20 February. He has inspired the play in his trademark way since then, setting up three goals. “I'm feeling good,” commented the Frenchman, who is rapidly approaching peak form. “Rhythm is a matter of match practice. I want to train well and intensely – every day!”

The Champions League thriller against Juventus has spurred him on. “It was very beautiful, and good for us mentally too. We maintained our confidence and the fans gave us lots of energy,” the crowd favourite said. “This match has shown that everything is possible in football.” The more so with Ribéry on the pitch!
