Happy Birthday, 'Guerrero'!

Not many people can say Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has sung them a personal birthday serenade, but after the early hours of Sunday morning, Arturo Vidal is one of the select group. The FC Bayern chairman summoned the Guerrero (warrior) to the Deutsche Telekom stage in Berlin at around half-past one in the morning. “It's Arturo's birthday,” Rummenigge said in his address during the double celebrations, presenting the 29-year-old with a birthday cake and champagne before breaking into a chorus of “Happy Birthday.”

There was another familiar face at the party: Claudio Pizarro joined the Bayern stars in the German capital, celebrating the cup triumph and the double with his former colleagues. The Werder Bremen forward had watched the thrilling final between Bayern and Borussia from the stands of Berlin's Olympic Stadium.

Double winners welcomed back to Munich

The double winners are back home! On the day after winning the DFB Cup in Berlin, the Bayern squad returned to Munich early on Sunday afternoon. The reception at the airport was more than worthy of champions, as the red carpet was rolled out for captain Philipp Lahm and his men, and the airport fire brigade greeted the team plane with water fountains. The team bus then took the squad to Marienplatz for the official party with the fans.
