One victory and two defeats for FCB pros

Germany's Euro 2016 group opponents Poland suffered a dress rehearsal defeat against the Netherlands on Wednesday. Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski and his compatriots lost 2-1 in Gdansk. Legia Warsaw's Artur Jedrzejczyk scored for the hosts, but Vincent Janssen and Georginio Wijnaldum netted for the Dutchmen. Lewandowski left the pitch after the hour mark.

Goal fest for Spain

European champions Spain with FCB pro Thiago enjoyed a more successful warm-up. La Roja downed South Korea 6-1 in Salzburg. David Silva, Cesc Fabregas and double scorers Nolito and Alvaro Morata netted for the reigning champions. Se Jong Ju scored a consolation goal shortly before the final whistle. Thiago replaced Silva in the second half and turned in a convincing display.

Vidal subbed off with knock

In the USA, holders Chile lost their dress rehearsal for the Copa America after Arturo Vidal and his team-mates fell 1-0 to Mexico in San Diego. The 62,000 crowd saw Bayer Leverkusen's Javier Hernandez score the match-winner. Vidal was replaced with a minor hamstring problem with a quarter-hour to go. Chile head coach Juan Antonio Pizzi sounded the all-clear after the final whistle, referring to the substitution as a precaution: “Vidal has no problems. He will be available for selection in our first Copa America match,” Pizzi commented.
