Jérôme Boateng will be available for selection in Germany's last sixteen encounter with Slovakia in Lille on Sunday at 18.00 CET. The FCB centre-back “tweaked his right calf muscle during the win over Northern Ireland, but is already on the road to recovery,” the German FA (DFB) announced on Wednesday. The 27-year-old was subbed off after 76 minutes against Northern Ireland because Germany head coach Joachim Löw did not want to “take any risks.”

Chile without Vidal through to final

Reigning champions Chile have advanced to the Copa America final without Arturo Vidal, who served a one-match ban. Charles Aranguiz and Jose Pedro Fuenzalida scored early in the semi-final encounter with Colombia, sealing a 2-0 victory. Just like last year, Chile encounter Argentina in the final in East Rutherford on Sunday after Messi & Co downed the USA 4-0. “I'm thrilled about the final,” Vidal declared after the match.
