Robben and Badstuber working out

The Reds officially report back for training on 11 July, but Arjen Robben and Holger Badstuber returned to the Säbener Strasse training ground on Monday. The two FCB pros, who have recovered from injury, performed running drills. Robben has been sidelined since the beginning of March with a persistent groin problem, Badstuber sustained a fractured ankle in February.

Kimmich no option in midfield

Joachim Löw will have to make several changes to his team for Germany's semi-final encounter with France on Thursday. Mario Gomez misses out with a torn hamstring, Sami Khedira is sidelined with a groin injury, Bastian Schweinsteiger is rated doubtful after sustaining a knee ligament strain, while Mats Hummels serves a one-match ban. “We'll make changes and find solutions. I'll field new players,” Löw commented on Monday. The Germany head coach ruled out moving Joshua Kimmich from right-back to defensive midfield: “Joshua Kimmich is no alternative in that position. I have other options in the centre," Löw said, mentioning Emre Can and Julian Weigl.
