Best Young Player: Sanches first, Coman second

FCB newcomer Renato Sanches has been named Best Young Player at EURO 2016, European football’s governing body UEFA announced after Sunday night’s final in Paris. Another Bayern youngster, Kingsley Coman of France, took second place. Third place in the ranking for players born after 1 January 1994 went to Dortmund-bound Raphael Guerreiro, completing a podium lockout for the German Bundesliga. The 18-year-old Sanches is also the youngest-ever player to appear in a European Championship final.

FCB boast the most European champions

FC Bayern continue to be the club with the most European champions in the history of the tournament. According to UEFA, new FCB signing Renato Sanches is the 19th Bayern pro to win a EURO. Real Madrid lie second with 16 European champions, followed by FC Barcelona boasting 15.

Allianz Arena in rainbow colours

On the occasion of the Christopher Street Day the Allianz Arena was lit up in rainbow colours on Saturday evening, laying down a marker for tolerance and open-mindedness. The lighting system by Philips, which was installed in the summer of 2015, makes this possible: 300,000 LEDs can display up to 16 million colours.
