FCB continues to be world's biggest sports club

A few weeks before the start of the next season FC Bayern München eV has a whopping 277,000 members, which means that it continues to be the world's biggest sports club. “I'm delighted at the ongoing excitement about our club,” declared FCB president Karl Hopfner, who hopes that “more and more Bayern fans will express their identification with the club by becoming members in the future.”

Starke praises Früchtl

At only 16 years of age goalkeeping talent Christian Früchtl is a regular in Bayern's pro squad programme. The youngster was promoted to Carlo Ancelotti's squad at the start of pre-season preparation and will learn the trade from veterans Manuel Neuer, Sven Ulreich and Tom Starke. “He's doing well. It's impressive how far he is for his age. He absorbs everything, he asks questions, he wants to make progress. If he stays fit all doors are open to him. I think FC Bayern have made a good catch,” Starke praised his fellow netminder on Friday.
