Svetislav Pesic, FC Bayern Basketball’s head coach for the last three and a half years and the mastermind behind the team’s first-ever BBL championship triumph in 2014, has been obliged to step down for health reasons. Following surgery to insert an artificial joint in his knee, the 66-year-old will require lengthy rehab therapy and will not resume his job afterwards. “On behalf of the club we wish to express heartfelt thanks to our coach for his energy and determination. He went to extraordinary lengths to drive our project forward,” commented FCBB Chief Executive Marko Pesic. Svetislav Pesic will be closely involved in the club’s search for a suitable successor.
