FC Bayern have agreed a season-long loan deal with Juventus for Medhi Benatia. The 29-year-old centre-back joins the reigning Italian champions with immediate effect. The agreement between the clubs enables Juventus to exercise an option to make the move permanent next season.
“We'd like to thank Medhi Benatia for two successful years in Munich, in which he played his part. He expressed the wish to return to Italy. We wish him all the best in Turin,” declared FC Bayern München chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
Benatia, who completed his pre-transfer medical in Turin on Thursday, joined Bayern from AS Roma at the beginning of the 2014/15 season and has made 45 appearances in competitive fixtures for Bayern, scoring three goals. The Morocco international has won two German championship titles and one DFB Cup title with the Bavarians.
