After 120 appearances for Germany Bastian Schweinsteiger announced his retirement from the international game on Friday.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge commented: "Dear Basti, we understand your decision. Your national team career has been fantastic. In 113 of your 120 caps you were an FC Bayern player, and we'd like to thank you for that once more. We wish you good luck for the future!
